Day 2 & Day 8 Tests

If you’re looking for day 2 and day 8 Covid tests in the UK,

come to Anna Pharmacy where we can accommodate approved Test to Release applicants and all incoming international travellers with variations of day 2 and day 8 PCR testing. Day 2 and day 8 tests are self-administered with detailed instructions included as part of the testing material. Those qualifying for the Test to Release scheme require a nose and mouth swab in person, to be carried out by a trained pharmacist on our team. For more information regarding our day 2 and day 8 testing services, please view our pricing chart. To learn more about who should seek out day 2 and day 8 PCR Testing, please keep reading.

Currently, due to the Covid pandemic, all inbound travellers to England, including UK Nationals, are subject to government mandated COVID-19 PCR Testing required on day 2 and 8 after your arrival from a green or amber listed country.

As well as carrying out a day 2 and day 8 test upon your arrival to England, within 72 hours of your departure you will also be required to obtain a negative Covid test result through additional privately administered PCR testing in the country from which you have departed. A negative Covid test result must be presented alongside your passenger locator form, which should be completed no more than 48 hours before entering the UK. As per governmental guidelines, all travellers arriving or returning to England must undergo 10 days of mandatory quarantine, unless they possess a valid reason for exemption.

For the current list of green, amber, and red listed countries, click here.

Day 2 tests

Required by arrivals from both green and amber listed countries.

Day 8 tests

Required by arrivals from amber listed countries without legal exemption
from quarantine or 8 day testing.

Read more about 8 day exemption here.

International travellers whose journey has either originated from an amber listed country or whose transit has included a stopover in an amber listed country will not be considered for quarantine exemption. However, they may be able to opt for Test to Release, which can shorten their imposed quarantine period.

For protocol information pertaining to arrival from a red listed country, please click here.

If you cannot find the information you are looking for on our website, we advise you to please check current guidelines made available on the GOV website. Please take note that, for testing purposes, day 0 is considered the day of your arrival to England. If you are permitted to opt into the Test to Release scheme, your additional PCR test must be administered on day 5 of your quarantine arrangement, in addition to the mandatory 2 and 8 day testing you are subject to.
